Giving Thanks in all things
Our humans believe in giving thanks and expressing gratitude in everything. Good for them. Don’t get me wrong- I (Twilight), am a very thankful cat. Here are some things I’m thankful for and why:
- Claws: Yes. I’m thankful for claws. They have saved me from countless attempts to “bathe” me in a sink, which every cat out there knows is really code for “drown.”
- Teeth: I’m especially grateful for teeth, because even when my claws are trimmed (against my will, I might add)- My teeth are a great backup. Besides, without teeth I couldn’t enjoy Fancy Feast and treats….and popcorn!
- Redi Whip: I’m thankful for Redi Whip- You know, that purrfectly awesome yummy stuff that humans squirt directly in their mouth and then put the can back in the fridge- one day someone left it out on the counter after it was used, and I just “happened” to hop up onto the counter and I tasted it- I love it!
- My Can Opener: Okay, in spite of baths, nail trims, ear cleaning, flea medicine, and all that othet fussy stuff, I guess I am thankful for the Can Opener- after all, she is the one who keeps the food coming.
- The Backup Can Opener: I’m even thankful for the backup Can Opener, because if the primary one doesn’t work, there’s a backup- and because he lets me snag his oyster crackers and cheese nips.
- Fancy Feast: My favorite food- but I usually give thanks after I eat, because I don’t believe in wasting a moment when it comes to eating. And last, but not least,
- Treats: Another no brainer. I mean, not being thankful for treats is just plain ridiculous.
Now it’s Sushi’s turn: Let’s see what she’s thankful for

Okay, fine. Now go away, flea.
- I’m thankful for naps. Goodnight.
Our boys love redi whip, and heavy cream, too. Thanks for following. Your blog looks like fun. 🙂

Why thank you! The Can Opener hasn’t given me heavy cream yet- but I’m working on it! MOL!

We use heavy cream in our coffee and, unfortunately, Chris has learned to expect it and won’t eat his breakfast.

Mol! Twilight has come to expect a dollop of Redi Whip before breakfast- and she won’t touch her food until she gets it!

Chris won’t eat because he wants the cream and after the cream he still won’t eat because he wants kibble, which I try to keep to a minimum but he is very persistent.

They say cat training is difficult. But I think they trained me pretty easy.

Mwahaha! Yes- I’ve trained my human really well-(Twilight has)- except for when it comes to that annoying habit of trying to sleep in on weekends!

This is Benji and I’m thankful for the many things you mentioned. I’m also thankful that Sue does NOT trim my nails as I use everything in the house and backyard to keep them nice and sharp. I’m not familiar with Redi Whip but will ask Sue to get me and Tiger some. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind.

Hi Benji! You’re lucky! She watches my claws like a hawk and keeps them short as possible since I like to smack Sushi- (Oh, did I actually say that out loud)??

We love your description of mom and dad. They are like human can openers. Fancy Feast now comes in the pull tab and mom is not a strong one however every morning and evening she’s showing us her muscles and opening a tin for us. We are pretty thankful for about the same things you are thankful for and a few more like a Lane out back for us to play in.
Is it cold where you are? I get the feeling it isn’t. It’s very cold today in northern British Columbia, Canada. It’s -30C so we’re staying inside.

Hmm. Our humans have not introduced us to Reddi-Wip. We need to talk. Purrs, Snoops and Kommando Kitty

Here’s what you do: wait ‘til your Can Opener squirts some on a banana split out a piece of pie, then swipe it with your paw (accidentally)- after that they won’t touch it!! And you get to enjoy the pie too!
