Thursday Therapy

Good Morning! I think we all could use a few laughs this morning, so we’re serving up some therapy for you – Enjoy!

We hope you enjoyed today’s post. Our human had a headache all day so we told her we would let her post for us tomorrow. Don’t worry- we’re not letting her have coffee tomorrow until she lets us on the computer.

Sushi’s Thankful Wednesday

I’ve decided to be thankful today.

I’ve noticed most humans aren’t very thankful.

And who ever heard of a cat being thankful? But my Can Opener always says everyone has something to be thankful for if they’re just willing to take a second to honestly think about it.

So, I’ve decided to be thankful today for everything I can- because when she sees me showing appreciation for things she does, she loads me up with treats. And I’m hungry. And it’ll make her happy- (and then she’ll give me more treats because she’s happy). Either way, I win.

So, Here’s some things I’m thankful for today -(I hope Mom is reading this)…

Thing 1)- long grass and sunshine to nap in.

Oh man, this is great!

Thing 2)- the Tiny One’s naps.

Thing 3)- Twilight. (bonus treats for that one).

Everybody needs somebody to fight with, right?

Thing 4)- Sheba lives next door.

(If she lived with us, I’d have to eat her.)

Thing 5)- My favorite spot in the carpet- right in the walkway.

That way, nobody can miss me when they go to the kitchen.

Thing 6)- My cozy spot on the desk

*snore*

Thing 7)- That I can finally stop thinking of things to be thankful for.

I’m hungry.

Okay, Now I’m REALLY THANKFUL!

All Better and Back to Mischief…

There goes my nice, quiet sunbath.

With Sheba Helping

The Can Opener and Sushi were just flat delighted to have those two – legged Critters back here today. I don’t know what’s wrong with them. For a pair of Critters that were sick last week, they sure as heck seem ready to take on the world. Or, at least my little patch of it anyway.

And of course, Sheba had to help them ruin my nice, quiet sunbathing session.
When the Tiny Critter wanted to get on the little slide, Sheba decided it was HER turn.

Then they ran toward the swingset armed with Outshine Bars ready to drip on everything they touched. I stayed out of the way, safely under the bush.

Look! There’s Sheba!

I thought if Sheba was in her right mind, she’d steer clear of them too- but apparently Sheba is as crazy as a flipping loon. The next thing I knew they were squealing with delight while Sheba chased them and climbed all over the swingset swatting at them and chasing the big Critter who kept teasing her.

Then Sheba had to prove her ownership of the swingset- by climbing all the way up to the top to try to snag the Big Critter’s hair. They all thought she was playing- but I think Sheba had sinister plans…

Then, as if right on cue, it suddenly started raining- (no rain in the forecast)- and they had to go inside. I could’ve sworn I saw Sheba give me a paws up as they hurried in out of the rain.

Nice Plan, Sheba. Maybe you’re not so crazy after all.

Sushi’s Monday Musings

It’s Monday again- But even though people hate Monday, I’m happy! The Tiny One will be here!

I’m excited to see my Tiny Critter today!

It’s felt so strange around here without the little noise-makers that keep our Can Opener busy. The poor little things were feeling pretty lousy and had fevers so they stayed home with their Mom and Daddy and got spoiled.

But here’s the deal- I get spoiled a lot more when the Critters are here than when they aren’t. When they’re here, they sneak me more treats than I would usually be allowed to have- and they love to scratch that spot in my back that I can’t quite reach. Of course, they also like to yell, and a cat laying in the middle of the rug around here is taking its life in its paws- because once those tiny feet attached to an excited tiny little one get going, they can’t always stop before noticing “the rug in the rug.”

Yes, I think this spot will be safer than laying in the rug…

Another plus to the Critters coming back, is that they love to feed me us. The Can Opener feeds us, of course- but when the Tiny One and its sister are here, she’s so busy taking care of them, helping them with school, and keeping them occupied, that she can easily lose track of when she fed us last.

And The Critters are more than willing to open endless cans of food for us. I just love those two!

Well- until they get here I’m going to remind the Can Opener one more time that I’m starving (even though she just fed us)- It’s so easy to get extra food when she’s rushing around getting ready for their arrival! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

I’m HUNGRY!

Sleepy Sunday

What a purrfect napping day!

Critters having a rest day & so are we!

It sure has been quiet around here these last few days since the Critters have been sick. But it’s also been a great time for catching up on naps for Sushi and me. At least it would be, if Sushi would quit snoring!Of course, Sushi’s snoring isn’t the only thing that interferes with my sleep.

The dang Can Opener decided that since the critters weren’t here for the last couple of days, that it was a good time to attack the house and all those poor, unsuspecting spider webs- and to get the window blinds repaired, closets and shelves organized, get rid of clothes that are too big for her now, and bake her yummy coconut flour blueberry chocolate chip muffins. I’d be all for those muffins- but the selfish brat won’t let Sushi and me have any. The least she could do is make us some home-made tuna treats.

*SNORE* ZZZZZZZZZZ

The Can Opener has decided to rest as much as she can today too, since the Critters are coming back tomorrow-(still not feeling great, but no more fevers)! Funny how she can call cleaning and reorganizing “rest.” Sushi and I think she needs to go back to school, becuase what she does when she’s cleaning doesn’t look anything like rest to us.

Maybe this video will help her get the general idea…

A Critter’s Sick Day

Time to break out the teddy bears and cuddly blankies

The Tiny One and her parents don’t feel well!

When the Tiny One woke up from her nap after her playday, she said her throat hurt. Later that night she had a fever. Since then she hasn’t been feeling well, and last night neither was her Daddy- and he had a fever also.

Today, her Mom isn’t feeling well and has a fever.

So, today she stayed home and Mom and Dad took the day off to take care of her. But we miss her so much. Sushi and I woke our human up at 4:30 this morning when we noticed she hadn’t already gotten up, and we tried really hard to warn her the Critters would be here soon -(besides, we were hungry and our breakfast was late).

But she kept sleeping until an unbelievable 7:30! How rude!

We weren’t happy when we figured out that the Critters weren’t going to come today and snuggle us and feed us treats. When we found out why we almost felt bad for waking the human. Almost- but not really.

I have to say, it’s awfully quiet here without the tiny tornado. But we don’t like that she’s sick. She’s all sweet and cuddly and she loves to feed us. And we love to eat. It’s a match made in heaven.

She won’t be here tomorrow, either. So for now, Sushi wil have to imagine she’s playing nurse to her favorite tiny one.

I love you, Tiny One.
Oh, that’s the PURRFECT spot!

As for me, I’ll have to find the treat bag for myself. But I can also pretend she’s here loving on me until she comes back.

A Happy Playday!

I’m wiped out!

The Tiny One’s Surprise!

It was a busy day- (I was busy dodging Sheba and hunting outside). I came in to find the Can Opener and the Tiny One sitting together in the floor all cozy on a blankie munching on snacks and sipping tea, while the Critters worked on their computer classes.

Reading and following instructions.

I’m ready to go back outside.
Learning to do art on the computer.
Sushi got tired of snoopervising and took off for a nap.

Then it was time for a break right when I thought it would be safe to go back outside and catch the squirrel that had been taunting me since the sun came up.

But I didn’t know there was a surprise waiting for the Critters -and me!

The Tiny One’s best friend had come to visit her grand-ma (the Can Opener’s sister). The little 3 year old critter was outside ready to play! They started playing on the swingset, and then The Tiny One slid down the slide and a gray paw flew out from under the slide as she came down and tried to catch her!

Sheba’s always trying to play and chase the critters!

Sheba chased them around and pawed at them as they slid- and they were having a lot of fun – until Lily noticed a butterfly and took off to catch it!

“Come back here, butterfly!”
Pushing a little to hard…
She found a ladybug and wanted to “feed it!”

Pretty soon it was nap-time- The Tiny One fought it valiantly.

Sushi did not.
Neither did I.

A lazy Day

I’m just going to lay here and be cute all day.

Yesterday was a busy day for my Can Opener. The critters were here. 🙀

The big one was complaining a lot about random things, the tiny one was busy trying to see how many times she could walk across the back of the couch and jump down to the floor before making a hole in the floor, Sheba (the psycho next door )-kept popping in to see if our human had opened a can of tuna yet, Twilight kept nipping at the human’s feet to get her to play, and I threw up a few times- just to make sure the human didn’t forget I’m here.

It worked beautifully!

Today, however, I’m going to just rest and be cute- just to see if I can outdo myself. After all, there’s a lot to compete with around here for attention.

But don’t worry- I already left a nice surprise hairball in the kitchen floor for the Can Opener. That way she starts the day off knowing she’s loved. It’s important to show your loved ones you care.

Counseling with the Human

(not me, HER).

This morning the Can Opener was needing counseling- so I volunteered.

Go ahead – keep talking (just don’t stop brushing).

She was waking up (slowly) and drinking her coffee and Sushi was laying at her feet on the bed snoring. That’s why she needed counseling. Sushi sounded like she was evolving into some sort of prehistoric sea-creature and the human was getting freaked out. That’s MY version, anyway, and I’m not changing it.

But when Sushi heard her start talking to me, and woke up to notice that I was sitting on a pillow in the Can Opener’s lap getting spoiled, she didn’t appreciate it, and turned around and swatted me!

So I got down from the pillow and let her have it! Sushi tried to sit up and pounce on me, but boulders aren’t very good at pouncing, so I just laid down at eye level with her and gave her, shall we say, some COUNSELING.

Sushi doesn’t believe in counseling. Apparently neither does the human, because she just started taking pictures. That figures.

Leave me alone, flea.

That worked out fine- because she got up and left. Leaving me free to take her spot on the bed with the human!

It worked! I got the best spot!
