The Human’s favorite part of the day- her morning devotion, with me- and a river of coffee.

The Can Opener loves to grab her coffee, Bible, and journal to wake up in the morning. I snuggle up next to her (preferably on her Bible), to make sure she actually reads it and doesn’t fall asleep again. The coffee was my idea too, (believe it or not)- it’s an extra guarantee that she won’t drift off to sleep while she’s “waking up.” She won’t let that happen, because who wants to spill hot coffee all over themselves when they’re waking up in the morning, right? Genius, I know. I take full credit.

This is her favorite way to wake up – she wakes up gently, and focuses her attention on the things that matter most of all (and me). She opens the window and listens as the world wakes up and the birds start to chatter, (and I hop into the window to drool over them). Then she prays- she says it helps her get her eyes off of herself and all her problems, and the chaos going on around us these days. It helps her let go of her troubles and start to count her blessings- and it gives her strength and wisdom for the day ahead.
I think a lot of the problem with people today, is they have no sense of purpose. They don’t value themselves, so they can’t value others, either. Their lives are filled with distractions that keep them from ever getting to a place where they detach and disconnect from a constant media stream, or social media, so that they can actually think.
Maybe if people could unplug for just a few minutes every day to call out to The Heavenly Father, they just may hear His whispers of love, and hope and recieve the help they need. Maybe they just need to know that the Lord wants them to come to Him. Because He loves them. His love quiets every storm and heals every wound.
“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle, and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
-Jesus- Matthew 11:28
Twilight dear furiend, I like the way you think. I, too, wish more humans would begin their day with devotions, alas, it seems that many bad humans have spent years trying to stop humans from being able to communicate with God… I’m not an expert on this, but apparently the pineal gland (3rd eye) is needed for best communication…. Did you know that things like fluoride calcify human pineal glands and shut off communication?!? How many years has that been put in some water systems and toothpaste?!? It is a diabolical the way fluoride is purrmoted as good, when it actually shuts off communication with good.
