Our Can Opener meant to be obedient and type for us yesterday, but life happened. AGAIN. Yesterday turned into a long, exhausting day for her, and and a boring day for me and Mount Sushi.
Not that Mount Sushi minds- as long as beloved ‘Mr.Dyson’ doesn’t reach his attachment too close to her on the couch where she’s snoring. The Can Opener got the new Dyson and immediately fell in love. Look, I know it’s hard being alone after 40 years of marriage, but I think she’s a little too attached to that thing.
Every time I so much as scratch, here comes the giant bullhorn pulling up the carpet behind me. Mom says it’s a “constant battle” to get all our fur out of the carpet, the couch, the cat tree, and anything else we come into contact with. But that thing follows me around everywhere threatening to suck the whiskers right off my face. So today, she decided to vacuum the bedroom- and then she saw me in my bed.
Unfortunately, she also saw my lovely fur arrangement on my bed and I knew what she was thinking immediately- “there’s an attachment for that!”
I bolted out of there before she could even hit the “on” switch again.
Now I have to sit here on the cat tree (which for some reason only blooms when I’m around)- and wait to see what will be left of my soft, furry bed after the carpet eater attacks it. I really don’t know what she sees in that thing.
There’s a reason we cats have taken over the internet (and the world)! We are adorable, cute, funny, full of purr-sonality, great for insomnia, great for stress relief, great exterminators (delicious!), and we not only can be trained, but we actually train our humans! Yep, that’s right.
But, did I also mention that we’re loving and sweet and cute?? Here’s adorable little me being cute…
Okay, I guess Sushi is cute too- that is if you’re into crazy cats …
“Oh my fleas! Mom, I hope that vet visit for Sushi includes some therapy- she has some real anger issues! All I did was jump down from the top of the desk and WHAM! SHE SMACKED POOR, INNOCENT LITTLE ME!”
See, Mom? Twilight is the one that needs therapy! I’m sure glad I figured out how to use your phone!
“Gotta go, MOM! There’s a bird I have to catch!” (Twilight)
Grief Counseling today made the Can Opener feel better. Now I need therapy!
Now that the human is starting to feel more like herself, Sushi and I are getting nervous. Now she might start thinking about things other than preparing for the upcoming Celebration of life- and start thinking more about other things… like taking Sushi and me to the vet! Or, clipping my claws, or re-arranging the house -(again)- or buying the wrong cat food- or worse yet, VACUUMMING!
That’s what she did yesterday – (conveniently right after I settled in for a nice, long, nap). She moved everything out and vacuumed everything in the house! Moving out couches, chairs, the Critter’s toys, the entire house, and even the cat tree!! Now it’s polluted! The worst part is, every time she turned it off for a little bit, and I started to relax, she turned it on again!
Two hours later, my nerves were shot, Sushi was still asleep, and the human was just getting started. I told her to cut it out because she’s seriously messing up my life and making me look bad to the other cats in the neighborhood- Lucky for me, she was hungry, so she finally put the electronic beast away and gave it a rest. But my nerves were shot for the rest of the day and I couldn’t find the catnip anywhere. I think she’s secretly trying to kill me to save on cat food.
The Back up Can Opener went two days with no fever, but now it’s back. And our Mom isn’t feeling like her usual self, either- but she doesn’t have a fever. She’s still taking care of everyone- so prayers would be appreciated.
Sushi and I are trying to cheer them up- and get them back to normal, and they say laughter is good medicine, so Sushi and I are posting some memes to make them laugh. We would be playing nurse, but we’re much more interested in our usual play sessions- which aren’t happening. So, maybe this, and all the green tea and lemons and strawberries they’re having will help them get back to normal. Enjoy!
