Thursday (Needed) Therapy

I think it’s time for some therapy around here. I’m bored out my mind.

Sushi’s losing it.

Not that she wasn’t already crazy- but now she’s crazier. She’s started doing things that don’t make any sense for a cat- like trying to help the Can Opener while she’s doing sewing projects (making cat toys) with the little Critters.

I kept telling her if she really wanted to help, she should turn around and attack Jazlyn’s foot.
But she doesn’t have my acute sense of humor.

Sushi’s idea of helping was to lay on all the things they needed for the different cat toys the Can Opener was designing. And she started licking the sewing basket – weirdo.

This didn’t stop them from working on their project, but it did make it last 2 hours longer than they wanted. I guess even Sushi can get something right now and then!😹

In other news- my Mama (cat) brought her boyfriend over for dinner the other night. The problem is, he’s staying.

Meet “Owl.”

Now the Can Opener needs to buy stock in Purina to be able to keep us all fed. He likes our food – and the tuna, but if he touches my Redi Whip, I’ll smack him so hard even Google won’t be able to find him!

I don’t mind Mama having my Redi Whip- but I want to wait and see how he treats my Mama before he gets my favorite thing in the whole world. He’d better be good to her!

In other news, we’re sad to report that Smokey is no longer with us- he didn’t die or anything, but The Can Opener’s sister let him out the morning before Thanksgiving, and he never came back.

Some of the neighbors say they’ve seen him way down on the other end of the bike path behind our house (with his brand-new Seresto collar on that he’d just gotten). So apparently he’s fine- but found another place he likes better. We think Sheba chased him off- for good.

She comes in my house and tries to chase ME OFF!

UNTIL she sees this…

Sheba’s full time job

Maybe “helping” with sewing projects
isn’t such a bad idea.

Twilight’s “Mother’s Day”

My Mama spent the day with me!

The Humans had Mother’s Day recently. But My Mama wasn’t here.

This morning when the Can Opener woke up and got her coffee she opened the back door for fresh air and my (still feral) Mama was there! We were so happy! My human has been taking care of her since she had me in the back yard (her second litter of kittens)…

They got her to a vet, got her shots and had her spayed- and tried for months to get her adopted. Though the cat rescue place took her in for two months, she just wouldn’t stay. So when they found homes for the (3rd litter of kitties) she was pregnant with they asked to bring her back where they found her. We were thrilled to have her back. I had missed her and kept looking for her.

Over the years, she’s learned to trust my human, and will let her get close enough to put food down for her. My Mama will actually sit and stare at her and “talk” to her and slowly blink her eyes at her. But my human mama has never tried to touch her, because she doesn’t want to scare her away.

But this morning we had breakfast together. My Can Opener saw us playing hide-and-seek together under the bushes and playing together on the playset – we chased butterflies and caught some bugs. We wanted that cute little green hummingbird that keeps visiting the lilac tree- but it’s too fast for us. Then we went duck hunting at the stream behind the house.

I had looked and waited in the windowsill all day looking for my Mama on Mother’s Day, and she never came. I guess all the extra people in the neighborhood that day made her nervous. So today, I gave her my breakfast and my Redi Whip and treats as a sort of late “Mother’s Day” present. Oh, sure – I was hungry. But I can eat as much as I want whenever I want. My Mama can’t.

I even carried a couple of my favorite toy mice outside for her to have something to play with because she doesn’t have any toys.

So all you kitties (and humans) out there, take good care of your Mamas. Because they’re the reason you’re alive. And they need love too.

Now I need a nap, so I can stay out with Mama tonight when she comes for dinner.

goodnight!

A Very Happy Caturday!

It started out cold and boring- but it ended purrfectly!

A visit from my Mama! We hunted and played all evening!

I was so happy when I woke up to a very sweet, familiar scent… My Mama was in the backyard waiting for me to see her and come outside! The Can Opener treated her to lots of food (even some tuna)! And then we hunted all evening – I’ve missed her so much, because she’s my favorite (cat) playmate. And today had started out cold and wet, so I hadn’t expected to see her- until I caught that familiar scent and followed it to our back door, where I found her eagerly waiting to play!

We always play fight and chase each other and cuddle, and then go to the stream behind our house to watch the ducks and geese. Then, when I know the Can Opener is getting ready for bed, we cuddle a little longer and say goodnight and I go inside and tell the Can Opener all about it while she grooms me and gives me treats.

Then I groomed Sushi and said goodnight…
Now I can go to sleep knowing Mama’s okay.
And Sushi is happy and content too.
