Full update coming soon

Thank you for not giving up on us.

Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma

Our humans are in the fight of their lives- but God is so good to them in it all. They are strong and Sushi and I are making sure they stay that way.

Their strength is from The Lord-not their own. So that’s good- because those two Can Openers wouldn’t have a chance otherwise!

Our Can Opener has almost forgotten its Christmas! The family was called in and she hasn’t had even time to think since all this started.

She asked me and Sushi to update you all and to thank you for not giving up on our blog- all of you are also her source of strength. Sushi doesn’t do anything but sleep and hiss when we walk to close to her tail, so I decided I’d better do it.

She also said she hopes none of you are also going through anything like this- and that you all have a purrfect Christmas!

We’ll be back!! We love and appreciate every one of you! 🎄

Twilight’s Thursday Therapy

I’m so glad you’re home Mom. Sushi wouldn’t play with me while you were gone. She didn’t play with anybody else either. Not even that big black spider.
What do you mean “What spider?” The one right there on the couch next to you….
Don’t worry! I got him! He’s a tasty snack!

So, THAT’S what she was doing…

At first I thought Twilight was just a little…jealous. But now I know why she’s so upset!
This is Abby…. the blue thingie she’s laying on is apparently a heating pad- which any cat in its right mind would LOVE. But we didn’t have one.

So, human- would you care to explain?

You know, I would love to have a heating pad to claim as my own mom, but you haven’t given us one. Yet, I looked in your phone and found pictures of Abby lounging lazily on a nice, warm heating pad in tons of pictures taken while you were away. FOR OUR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY.

There’s Serafina (with her tongue hanging out) also- lounging lazily on top of the sound bar in front of the tv. You don’t let US do that!

And then there’s these….

Now, we all know that’s YOUR laptop, Mom. Why would you let another cat near your laptop? That’s our EXCLUSIVE right!

And then there’s THIS. (You’d better have a GOOD EXPLANATION FOR THIS ONE)…

WHO DID YOU CUDDLE AND BRUSH WHILE WE WERE HERE WITHOUT YOU, MOM? That’s YOUR COFFEE MUG!

You may apply for forgiveness- (no later than 10 am tomorrow morning)- but there’s no guarantee of acceptance. Just sayin.’

Be careful how you answer, human.

The Can Opener’s Guilt Offering

A new bed to ignore!
The bed was expensive- so I can never let her see me in it. I’ll use the box instead.
That’s the reason I can’t use it.
HEY! YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE!
Don’t be an idiot, Twilight. It’s so COMFY!
She bought me one just like it.
So if you won’t use it, I’ll use it in the evenings when Mom’s on the computer.
And now I have TWO. Go use your box.

Fine! Then I’ll take this one back!

Twilight’s Tuesday Musings

I can actually be nice to Sushi sometimes. (Without pouncing on her afterward).

A little Comfort for you

Our Can Opener feeling better, but the Back-up Can Opener is still not feeling well, so she spent extra time praying last night. I like it when she does that, because she tends to pace back and forth sometimes and I like to hang over her shoulder and purr as she holds me and prays. When she’s done she’s more peaceful and I’m ready for a nap.

She knows things are hard for everyone right now, not just him and her. So this morning is all about comfort.

Did you know that we cats are great for stress relief? Yep. And that’s not just coming from me. Even doctors agree.

Here’s a few random facts for you about the benefits of having a pet – (cats, specifically, because- well, I’M A CAT).

This is the short version- there are many more benefits to having a cat.

We are great companions and reduce loneliness- and petting a cat helps our owners relax and even reduces blood pressure! Studies also have shown we reduce the chances of heart disease, and strokes, help your immune system(s), and our purrs even help heal your bones!

And if that’s not enough, we also have been shown to help autistic children, and to help prevent ashtma (in children) and improve your mood.

I could go on- but you might want to read it for yourself here.

Or, you could just consult your cat. If you don’t have a cat, I think you should get one- immediately if not sooner.

Siamese like me are a great choice- we love to play – and talk.

She’ll also keep the sheets down on your bed. Trust me.
We even greet you with a smile..
A tortoiseshell like Sushi will talk to you- CONSTANTLY. And guard the remote.

And if you’re blessed with TWO cats, you’ll always have live entertainment.

Sushi’s Sunday Musings

Yesterday the Can Opener tried to clip my claws. She got clipped.

I’m keeping my claws, Human. Trust me.

That psychotic albino flea gets bored and keeps pretending to snuggle up with me and groom me only to turn around and SWAT the fleas right off me trying to make me play. I’m telling you, one of these days….I’m going to swat her clear to the moon!

She’s got it coming… I can’t even enjoy a nice, long, nap on a rainy day without her pouncing on me. And now the Can Opener is insisting on trimming my claws. She got two done before I decided it wasn’t going to happen- not in this lifetime!

Oh, come on, Sushi- I’m not THAT bad….
Okay, well, maybe sometimes- but I can’t help it if it‘s raining and I get bored!

Okay, fine. Then I’ll start attacking the Can Opener so she’ll play with me. Geez! You sure have an attitude!

I know how to get Mom’s attention and make her play with me- I’ll get on her computer!
Yes – do that. JUST LET ME SLEEP!

Cat Massage

Just what I needed, Mom.

Your Cat Would love a Massage!

Have you ever noticed how your cat loves to be stroked? Did you know that cats can benefit from a gentle massage, just like humans? They can! Gentle massage can soothe and relax your cat, calm an anxious cat, improve circulation and relieve pain as well as strenghtening the bond between you!

And the best part is, spending that time gently massaging your cat, will also lower your blood pressure and give you health benefits of your own. The next time your cat seems stressed, anxious, or bored, try spending a few minutes giving it a massage and see if you don’t both relax and feel better afterward- your cat will love it!

You don’t actually have to have a kitty salon- but you can still make your cat feel like she’s been to one! Just give her (or him) – a lot of love!

Tuesday Tumble

The Can Openers can’t play, and it’s raining. I’m bored.
So take a nap like I do- You’re a cat- it’s the perfect excuse.

I’m done being bored because of rain. What to do?

There. That’s better.
