Man, when this lady sleeps, she’s not kidding!
I finally managed to wake her up, but I almost had to call the Marines to do it! The Can Opener stayed up late last night because her day got thrown off schedule since Human #2 had surgery on his arm yesterday. It’s funny how much something like that can impact things- especially the cat’s feeding and play schedule! I’m going to have to have a serious talk with this lady.
After a week of her favorite thing (taking care of the baby tornado)- she took Thursday off to prepare for early surgery for the hubster on Friday and the rest of the day making sure he was okay. He’s been in constant pain for months, and even though he’s still hurting now, they are relieved because this time it’s because his arm is repaired. But getting her to play with me hasn’t worked out yesterday or today! And I’m not happy! I even nipped at her ankles several times this morning but she said she couldn’t play while she was cooking!
Excuses, excuses!
So, I did what any other normal cat would do under the circumstances, and tried to get Sushi to play- she threatened to eat me for lunch.
As I suspected that didn’t go over well. Of course, she wanted to sleep -(what else is new)?
So I waited a little while til she woke up on her own and went to her next favorite spot- (her dish in the kitchen)…. and I was even nice enough to let her eat first- then approached her for playtime after that, hoping she’d be a little more polite and likely to play.
Here’s how that went…

Pretty soon, the Can Opener had time to play, but by that time, I was the one wanting to sleep! So, she went to see if Sushi wanted to play and found this:

And now the Can Opener wants to sleep again. Oh yay.

Sometimes the best thing to do is just curl up in a cozy spot and sleep……open one eye from time to time to see if anything interesting is going on…..if not, back to sleep.

That stinks. This morning, our feeder said she didn’t feel well (about the millionth she’s said that this winter), and our breakfast was an HOUR late. We Almost starved. Purrs, Snoops and Kommando Kitty. We hope your backup human feels better soon.

I don’t know what it is with these humans. My Can Opener had the NERVE to try to sleep til 7:30 this morning, knowing that I am used to eating breakfast at 4:30. I’ve got to do something about this!

I know- the least the flipping humans could do is leave the refrigerator door open all night so we can help ourselves-but oh, no- that would be too helpful!
